Target Baits · Québec · Since 2015

Lures for the fish we call our own.

Since 2015, Target Baits Leurres has pursued a simple mission: offer effective, accessible lures suited to the fish we target in Québec and across Canada.

A Québec company. Products designed or selected with one goal in mind: helping you head out on the water with confidence.

Our story

The Swimmy Fish. A lure that helped put us on the map.

Target Baits became known for the Swimmy Fish, a realistic minnow imitation that earned a place in local anglers’ tackle boxes.

It addressed a practical need: recreating a small baitfish profile with an artificial lure. Interest grew as Québec’s province-wide ban on live baitfish came into effect in 2017.

Our range has since expanded to include soft plastics, hard baits, jig heads, hooks, attractants and accessories. The guiding idea remains the same: start with anglers’ needs and the fish they pursue.

Our home waters

Three specialties. One shared passion.

Striped bass, lake trout and bass hold a special place at Target Baits. Different fisheries call for different profiles, sizes and rigs.

It starts with the product

Design. Select. Keep improving.

Our work goes beyond stocking a shop. We bring together product design, carefully selected models and exclusives to build a range that makes sense for our local fisheries.

Profile, action, size, colour and rig compatibility: these details give a lure its purpose. Conversations with anglers help shape our thinking and future developments.

Clear about where products come from

A local company. Partners here and around the world.

Being a Québec company does not mean claiming everything is made in Québec. Our suppliers and partners are based in Québec, Ontario, the United States, China and Europe.

Depending on the product, we may design it, develop a variation or select it from a supplier. Where a product is designed and where it is manufactured can therefore be different.

Look for the “Made in Québec” label. It identifies the relevant products, not our entire catalogue. Want to know more about a particular model’s origin or features? Ask us before ordering.

Practical choices and actions

Looking after the waters we love.

Our enjoyment of fishing depends on healthy lakes, rivers and waterways. Environmental responsibility is part of our approach, with a selection of products identified on the site.

This includes lures described as BPA- and phthalate-free, as well as tungsten options as an alternative to lead. Features vary by model: check the label and product page to identify the products concerned.

These choices do not make a lure impact-free or biodegradable. Taking used lures, line and packaging home remains essential. Every action on the water matters.
